Objective To investigate and analyze the occurrence of potential inappropriate drug use of elderly hospitalized inpatients,so as to reduce the risk of drug use.Methods According to the criteria for judging the potential inappropriate use of drugs for the elderly in China(2017),8 423 elderly patients over 65 years old in the First People's Hospital of Chuzhou were evaluated to detect the potential inappropriate use of drugs.Results A total of 5 107 subjects(60.63%)existed potentially inappropriate medication,including 7 658 inappropriate medication related to the type of drug and 860 inappropriate medication related to the disease state,mainly involving anti-platelet drugs,insulin,BZDs and NSAIDs.The key factor on potentially inappropriate medication in elderly inpatients was the combined use of drugs.Conclusions Potential inappropriate drug use is common in elderly patients,and pharmacological interventions should be actively adopted.
