Objective To investigate the prevalence of chronic diseases and the current status of multimorbidity in the special needs medical population.Methods Medical records of 1 504 patients who had medical examinations at the Department of Special Needs Medicine of Beijing Hospital from January 2023 to December 2023 were collected,and the prevalence of 14 chronic diseases and their characteristics were analyzed.Results Among the 14 chronic diseases surveyed,the average number of diseases in the population was 4.70±1.86,and the number of diseases gradually in-creased with age.97.21%of the population had co-existing diseases,and the prevalence of co-existing diseases was higher in men than in women,and the top three diseases in terms of co-existing diseases were dyslipidemia(87.57%),diseases of the digestive system(85.11%),and hypertensive disease(59.57%).The most common binary multimor-bidity combinations were Dyslipidemia+digestive system disease,dyslipidemia+hypertensive disease,dyslipidemia+Diabetes mellitus or elevated blood glucose,and common ternary multimorbidity combinations were dyslipidemia+diges-tive system disease+arthritis or rheumatism,dyslipidemia+digestive system disease+hypertensive disease,and dyslipi-demia+digestive system disease+Diabetes mellitus or elevated blood glucose.Conclusions The incidence and comor-bidity rate of chronic diseases in the special medical needs population are very high,and with the development of age to-wards diversification,the difficulty of disease diagnosis and treatment increases.
