Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of miR-208b-3p in the serum of patients with atherosclerosis(AS).Methods A total of 120 AS patients admitted to the Department of Cardiology of our hospital from June 2019 to June 2021 were selected AS the AS group, and 120 healthy physical examination person-nel matching the general data of the patients were selected as the control group.Real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR(qRT-PCR)method was used to detect the expression level of miR-208b-3p;logistic regression was used to analyze the the influencing factors of AS;receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was used to analyze the clinical significance of serum miR-208b-3p level in the diagnosis of AS patients. Results The level of serum miR-208b-3p in the AS group was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001);logis-tic regression analysis showed that miR-208b-3p,TC,TG,LDL-C and hs-CRP were all related to the occurrence of AS(P<0.05);ROC results showed that the area under the curve(AUC)of miR-208b-3p level to assess AS was 0.901(95%CI:0.856-0.936),with a sensitivity of 77.50%and a specificity of 89.17%.Conclusions The level of miR-208b-3p is up-regulated in the serum of AS patients, suggesting that miR-208b-3p is closely related to the occur-rence and development of AS,which can be used as a potential serological indicator for assessing the occurrence of AS.
