Objective To investigate the correlation between fibrinogen to albumin ratio(FAR)and CHADS2 scores in patients with coronary chronic total occlusion(CTO).Methods Two hundred and forty-four patients who un-derwent coronary angiography(CAG)in the Department of Geriatric Cardiology at the Second Affiliated Hospital of An-hui Medical University from July 2015 to December 2023 were included with coronary artery angiography, which were classified into CTO(n=142)and non-CTO(n=102).The tertiles were divided into three groups according to Gensini score, including low-score group(n=82),medium-score group(n=82)and high-score group(n=80).Result The age,the incidence of hypertension, heart failure, cerebrovascularevents, smoking, hemoglobin, albumin, urea nitrogen,fi-brinogen,FAR,CHADS2 scores and Gensini score were significantly different between in CTO group and non-CTO group(P<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that smoking,FAR and CHADS2 score were associated with CTO(P<0.05).There were significant differences in age, heart failure ratio, smoking ratio, albumin, total cholesterol,fibrinogen,FAR,CHADS2 score, and CTO ratio among different score groups(P<0.05).Correlation analysis showed that FAR and Gensini score,CHADS2 scores and Gensini score were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions FAR and CHADS2 scores are independently associated with the occurrence of CTO and there is a correlation between FAR and CHADS2 scores and the severity of CTO,which have some implications for the assessment of preoperative coro-nary severity.
