The effect of traditional Chinese medicine packets for Qufeng Tongluo on disease activity and NOD-like recep-tor protein 3 inflammasome in patients with rheumatoid arthritis
Objective To explore the effects of traditional Chinese medicine packaging with the method of Qufeng Tongluo on the disease activity of rheumatoid arthritis and NOD-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3)inflamma-some.Methods From September 2023 to February 2024,60 patients with rheumatoid arthritis of the rheumatoid arthri-tis type admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were randomly di-vided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method,with 30 patients in each group.The control group was treated with oral methotrexate and folic acid,while the observation group was treated with traditional Chinese medicine packets for dispelling wind and promoting collaterals on the basis of the control group.The treatment course was 2 weeks for both groups.Compared The traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores,visual analog scale(VAS),physician's global assessment(PGA),rheumatoid arthritis clinical disease activity index(CDAI),Amer-ican College of Rheumatology rheumatoid arthritis 20％,50％,and 70％improvement rate criteria(ACR20/50/70)were compared to evaluate clinical efficacy before and after treatment,28 joint disease activity scores(DAS28),health status survey summary form,anxiety self-assessment scale(SAS),and depression self-assessment scale;the levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein,erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),rheumatoid factor,anti cyclic citrullinated pep-tide antibody,NOD like receptor protein 3(NLRP3),interleukin(IL)-6,IL-18,IL-1 β,and tumor necrosis factor-α were detected before and after treatment.Results After treatment,the observation group showed significant improvement in joint pain,joint tenderness,and morning stiffness compared to the control group.The improvement rate of ACR70 in the observation group(60.0％)was higher than that in the control group(33.3％).In terms of disease activity,the VAS,DAS28,CD AI,and PGA scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The ob-servation group was superior to the control group in reducing patients'NLRP3,IL-6,IL-18,improving general health sta-tus,physiological function,social function,physical pain,psychological health,SAS,and other aspects(P＜0.05).Con-clusions The traditional Chinese medicine package for Qufeng Tongluo has significant clinical efficacy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.It can effectively improve traditional Chinese medicine syndromes,reduce disease activity,lower in-flammation levels,improve life quality of patients with RA.
