Screening and Identification for Antagonistic Bacteria of Lonsdalea populi
[Objective]The aim is to screen for antagonistic bacteria of Lonsdalea populi which causes the bark canker on Populus×euramericana in China.[Method]The L.populi strain CFCC 13731 was used as target, and the antagonistic strains were screened by the plate antagonism method, their preventive efficacy was determined by the Oxford cup method. The efficient antagonist strains were identified through morphological, physiological and biochemical characteristics in combination with 16S rRNA sequence analysis.[Result]Ten bacteria with antibacterial activity against L.populi were screened.Further screening yielded strain k1 with good antimicrobial activity, which was identified as Paenibacillus polymyxa.[Conclusion]Screening obtained that the P.polymyxa k1 has a good antagonistic effect on L.populi, which will have a greater potential for application in the control of the bark canker on Populus×euramericana.
