Investigation and Diagnose of the Ancient and Famous Tree Canker Diseases in Gongjuelinka Garden,Rikaze City
[Objective]The aim of this study was to clarify the canker disease affecting ancient and famous trees in Gongjuelinka Garden,Rikaze City, and to identify the causative pathogens.[Methods]Investigations were carried out in Gongjuelinka Garden during the summer of 2022.Fungal isolates were obtained from diseased branches using tissue isolation methods. The isolates were identified through a combination of phylogenetic analysis based on ITS,act,rpb2,tef1 and tub2 sequence loci and morphological characterization.[Results]The canker disease incidence in Populus szechuanica var.tibetica,Salix alba,S.cheilophila and S.wallichiana was approximately 60%in Gongjuelinka Garden.Isolates from P.szechuanica var.tibetica were identified as Cytospora populicola;isolates from S.alba represented two species,C.ailanthicola and C.populina;and isolates from S.cheilophila and S.wallichiana were identified as C.chrysosperma.[Conclusion]This study identified the pathogens responsible for the canker disease affecting ancient and famous tree species in Rikaze City, which provides a foundation for disease management.
