Stellaria pallida(Dumort.)Crép.,A Newly Recorded Invasive Species of Caryophyllaceae from Sichuan,China
This report documents the discovery of a new invasive plant species,Stellaria pallida(Dumort.)Crép.,in February 2024 at Mount Emei in Sichuan Province.Morphological characteristics were analyzed and compared,and relevant literature was reviewed to confirm it as a new record of the invasive plant species of the Caryophyllaceae family in Sichuan.S.pallida is currently one of the most frequently occurring alien invasive weeds in the spring at the Mount Emei Nature Reserve.Its widespread occurrence may lead to the destruction of native plant habitats and trigger the outbreak of diseases and pests.This discovery further enriches the plant diversity of the Stellaria genus in Sichuan Province and adds an taxonomic key for common weed species of the genus in Sichuan Province,provides valuable assistance for future invasion control and utilization of wild resources of this alien invasive plant.
