Sources,Effects and Treatment Methods of Antibiotics in the Aquatic Environment
Antibiotics, known for their efficient bacteriostatic and bactericidal properties, are extensively utilized in industries such as healthcare, agriculture, animal husbandry and breeding. However, the wide-ranging human activities have led to a persistent increase in the concentration of antibiotics in the aquatic environment, which poses a severe threat to the ecological system and human health.By analyzing the main sources of antibiotics in the aquatic environment, this paper discusses the impacts they have on the environment and health.Furthermore,it studies substantial results of several main technologies for removing antibiotics in the aquatic environment, including physical methods(such as adsorption, membrane separation, etc.),chemical methods(such as chiorination, ozonation, etc.),advanced oxidation processes(such as supercritical water oxidation and persulfate advanced oxidation, etc.),and biological treatment techniques(such as anaerobic biological treatment and membrane bioreactors,etc.).
