Feasibility study on replacing copper with aluminum for dry-type transformer winding
With the rapid development of modern economy,the demand for dry-type transformers is increasing,and the price of the winding material-copper foil continues to rise,such increasing the manufacturing cost of dry-type transformers.In order to reduce the manufacturing cost of transformer materials,the market has emerged a model of"replacing copper with aluminum",that is,alumi-num metal with similar copper property is used as a substitute for copper to manufacture the windings of dry-type transformers,which greatly reduces the cost of dry-type transformers.The development prospect of dry-type transformers is analyzed,the mechanical properties,conductivity,physical properties,process technology and safety of the two winding materials of aluminum foil and copper foil for dry-type transformers are compared,and the improvement measures of"replacing copper with aluminum"in dry-type trans-formers are proposed,which proves the feasibility of"replacing copper with aluminum"of dry-type transformer winding materials.
