With the proposal of the"dual carbon"goal and the popularization of electric vehicles,vehicle lightweighting has become an important way to solve problems such as energy efficiency,range and environmental impact.This article comprehensively analyzed the current development status of automotive lightweight technology,and emphasized the importance of lightweight for the perfor-mance,safety,range,and cost of electric vehicles.This article mainly introduced the application status and development trends of mate-rial lightweighting(high-strength steel,aluminium alloys,magnesium alloys,titanium alloys,plastics composite materials,other materi-als),process lightweighting(hydraulic forming,laser welding,thermoforming),and structural lightweighting(topology optimization de-sign,shape and size optimization design,multidisciplinary optimization design).Overall,this article has a certain reference significance for promoting the research and application of automotive lightweight technology.
