Effect of Cu Content on Mechanical Properties and Corrosion Resistance of Al-Cu-Mg-Ag Alloy
Cu is one of the main alloying elements of Al-Cu-Mg-Ag alloy, which has an important effect on the properties of the al-loy.Three Al-Cu-Mg-Ag alloys with Cu mass fraction of 3.08%,3.39%and 3.93%were prepared. The effects of Cu content on the microstructure, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the alloy were investigated by metallographic microscope, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope, tensile mechanical properties test at room temperature, intergranular corrosion test and electrochemical test. The results show that the grain size of as-cast Al-Cu-Mg-Ag alloy decreases with the increase of Cu content, the yield strength and tensile strength of the alloy treated with T8 increase, the elongation decreases slightly, and the number of Ωphases in the alloy increases. With the increase of Cu content, the corrosion resistance of the alloy with Cu mass fraction of 3.39%increases first and then decreases. The corrosion resistance of the alloy with Cu mass fraction of 3.39%is relatively good.
