Study on Influence of Indenter Diameter on Bending Properties of Anti-Collision Energy Absorbing Aluminium Alloy Profiles for Automobile Chassis
Taking 6008 anti-collision energy absorption aluminium alloy profiles for automobile chassis produced by a company as the research object, five different indenters with diameters of 0.4,0.8,1.5,2 and 3 mm were designed to conduct longitudinal and trans-verse bending tests on 6008-T4 and 6008-T7 aluminium alloys, respectively.By analyzing and observing the maximum bending force, bending angle and the macromorphology of the surface after bending, the influence of the diameter of the indenter on the longi-tudinal and transverse bending properties of 6008 aluminium alloy was studied. The results show that 6008-T4 aluminum alloy has good longitudinal and transverse plasticity, the change of indenter diameter has little effect on the longitudinal and transverse bending angles, and the longitudinal and transverse bending forces decrease gradually with the increase of the diameter of the indenter. The lon-gitudinal bending properties of 6008-T7 aluminium alloy are superior to the transverse bending properties. With the increase of the di-ameter of the indenter, the longitudinal bending force and bending angle gradually increase, while the transverse bending force shows a gradually decreasing trend, and the bending angle does not change significantly.
