Experimental Study on Soft Loess Foundation Reinforced by Geopolymer Mixing Piles
Based on the high moisture content soft loess test soil sample of G577 highway project in Xinjiang, the laboratory model test and numerical simulation metholds were used to carry out the study the bearing characteristics of geopolymer mixed pile composite foundation. The results show that, geopolymer piles can effectively control settlement of composite foundation, and the settlement gradually decreases with the increase of replacement rate;the soil stress between piles will significantly increase at the moment when each load is applied, and then gradually decrease to a stable state during each load duration;the stress at the pile head will slightly increase at the moment when each load is applied, and then linearly increase during each load duration;the pile-soil stress ratio n generally presents a trend of gradually decreasing until stable, and ultimately stabilizes at 7-8;compared with the replacement rate, the pile length has greater impact on settlement of composite foundation. It is recommended that increasing pile length is considered firstly when the settlement is large and cannotmeet the design requirement.
