Performance Evaluation and Application of Steel Slag Cement Stabilized Graded Crushed Stone Mixture
In order to apply steel slag cement stabilized graded crushed stone to semi-rigid base, the effects of 20%-80%steel slag content on mechanical properties(unconfined compressive strength, flexural tensile strength, dynamic resilience modulus),deformation characteristics(dry shrinkage deformation, temperature shrinkage deformation)and fatigue properties of cement stabilized crushed stone were analyzed. The results show that the unconfined compressive strength, flexural tensile strength, dynamic resilience modulus and fatigue durability of cement stabilized graded crushed stone mixture can be enhanced by using steel slag instead of coarse aggregate. With the increase of steel slag content, the temperature shrinkage and dry shrinkage deformation of cement stabilized graded crushed stone will increase,so as to control the maximum dry shrinkage coefficient not exceeding 70-85 με,and the average temperature shrinkage coefficient in the temperature range of-25 to 60 ℃ is not more than 12 to 15 με/℃ as the limiting condition, the maximum steel slag content is recommended to be 40%-60%.The indexes of base test section of the cement stabilized crushed stone with 40%steel slag content meet the requirements of relevant design and construction specifications.
