Experimental Study on the Optimum Slurry Ratio of Horizontal Directional Drilling in Silt-Sandy Strata
Based on the pipe network expansion and reconstruction project in Gaoyao District of Zhaoqing City, aiming at the problem that horizontal directional drilling construction is prone to hole collapse under the geological condition of fine sand layer, the optimal ratio of suitable slurry is determined by laboratory test, and verified by soil sample immersion test. The results show that the content of bentonite and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose have the greatest influence on the performance of slurry.Due to the serious soil and water separation after standing, the rheology, viscosity and pulping properties of pure calcium bentonite slurry are poor, which cannot be directly applied to practical projects. The best slurry ratio suitable for the silt-sandy strata in Zhaoqing area is water∶calcium bentonite∶sodium carboxymethyl cellulose∶polyacrylamide∶sodium carbonate=1000.00∶70.00∶2.00∶0.01∶2.00;Indoor immersion test and field application verify that the slurry with this ratio has the best performance and good economy, which can solve the problem of hole collapse during construction.
