Evaluation of Geological Hazard Vulnerability Based on Hierarchical Analysis Method and GIS
Combined with the hierarchical analysis method, six evaluation indexes, namely, stratigraphic lithology, geological structure, rainfall, topographic slope,NDVI(Normalized Vegetation Index),and human engineering activities, were selected to construct an evaluation index system for the geologic hazard susceptibility in Wufeng County and carry out geological hazard susceptibility evaluation and zoning. The results show that about 31.40%of the geologic hazards are in the medium and high susceptibility zones, which are mainly distributed in the river basins and nearby slopes,on both sides of the roads and rupture tectonic zones, and in the areas with intensive engineering activities. The proportion of low susceptibility areas is about 68.60%,mainly distributed in mountain valleys, areas with high vegetation cover and less engineering activities. The evaluation results can provide a reference for geologic disaster zoning and prevention in Wufeng County.
