Mechanical Responses of Saturated Red Clay at Different Loading Rates and Stress Paths
Herein ABAQUS finite element software was used to establish an axisymmetric model, thus the mechanical responses of saturated red clay in the south of Jiangxi under different loading rates and stress paths were analyzed, and then the feasibility of the numerical model was verified. The result shows that, under different stress paths, the stress-strain curve and the pore pressure-strain curve of the red clay have different characteristics of change and, under the same stress path, the loading rate will not impact the overall growth trend, but determine the peak value;the sensitivity of the red clay to lateral unloading is higher than that to axial loading, the sensitivity to high loading rate is larger than that to low loading rate. The pore pressure-loading rate curves under three stress paths may be described by logarithmic function.
