"Bridge of Knowledge leading to Action":Zhu Xi's"Yi"and"Sincerity"from the Perspective of Moral Motivation
This essay attempts to interpret the content of Zhu Xi's Yi and Sin-cerity from the perspective of moral motivation.It argues that Yi possesses the characteristics of motivation,which serve as the primary internal behavior-al drive and can bridge the gap between"true knowledge"and"action".Sin-cerity is placed between Zhi-Zhi and Ge-Wu in order to transform the moti-vational characteristics of one's mind into moral motivation.Additionally,sincer-ity acts as a crucial bridge for translating true knowledge into moral behavior.
