Ye Zhaoyan,Xu Zechen and Lu Nei,writers from Jiangsu Province,chose the"Yanliu Lane"named after Flower Street and Rose Street in their hometown as the narrative places,and constructed the"cultural water town"since the new century.The new quality of Jiangnan style is hidden behind the rouge scent and the chivalrous spirit of the women in the Flower Street.By the depiction of the teenagers moving from the Flower Street to the"outside",the writers trace their imagination and memory of Jiangnan,and reproduce the realistic tension between"going to the world"and"rootless confusion".The regional mobility further activates the imaginative con-struction of the Flower Street image.These all provide cultural meaning for Jiangnan writing and the possibility of writers participating in urban shaping.
