Chinese Industries Climbing Global Value Chain:Development Dynamics,Cross-countries Comparison, and Enlightenment of Countermeasures
This paper classifies the industrial structures according to factor intensity, and then constructs indicators using forward and backward GVC participation, technical sophistication in value added,as well as production length defined by forward and backward linkages,to measure relative value output position, industrial control power, and production position in global value chain of each category.Next, this paper analyzes the heterogeneous trends of Chinese industries'development in global value chains since entering WTO,from the perspective of net contribution and control power.Furthermore, the paper compares the same industries in China,United states,Germany,Japan, and South Korea,in order to research the international development dynamics. Finally, the paper takes advantageous countries'production positions as reference and combines the actual situation to analyze the challenges faced by Chinese industries in climbing the global value chain.
