Around the 1930s,the phenomenon of"modern"in major urban life in China was extremely common,which symbolized that anything with trend in urban life could be called"modern".Many of these contents reflect the pace of city citizens in their life to follow the world trend.The official attitude toward the"modern"phenomenon is mostly negative,while the folk attitude toward the"modern"phenomenon is both hostile and protective,and the public opinion is seriously torn apart,thus forming the debate between the"modern affirmative"and"modern negative"in the ideological and public opinion circles.This is one of the concrete manifestations of the collision and friction between Chinese and Western cultures in the process of contact since modern times.From this,we can understand the rejection,choice and sublation of Chinese people to Western novelty at that time.Many excellent foreign things are gradually absorbed and borrowed by Chinese culture in this game,becoming an important part of the increasingly rich social life of the people.Modern Chinese society has continuously evolved and developed in the process of such conflicts,choices,and recognition.
