The protracted Russian-Ukrainian crisis has catalyzed a profound restructuring and polarization of the global power dynamics,and the European Union(EU)countries have been deeply involved in this crisis,which has had a serious adverse impact on the economies of EU member states.In an endeavor to mitigate the repercussions of exogenous factors on the internal European economy,the EU has extended the basic logic of economic governance from its traditional dimension to the realm of security governance.The inaugural European Economic Security Strategy was promulgated by the EU in June 2023,followed by the introduction of the Five New Initiatives in January 2024,which comprehensively elevated the cognizance of Europe's economic security paradigm,from strategy to action.The extension of European economic security governance to five major categories will have a profound impact on the EU and its foreign economic and trade cooperation relations.This paper aims to analyze the basic logic of European economic security governance,assess the potential impact of this governance model on the economic development of EU member states and the economic and trade relations between the EU and the world's major powers from the strategic level.Building upon this analysis,the policy direction of the European Union's economic security governance will be scrutinized and judged.
