In order to explore the variation law of geotechnical properties of landfill humus soil with landfill depth, taking humus soil with different landfill depths in old landfills as the research object, the method of combining laboratory test and theoretical analysis was used to study the physicochemical properties and the mechanical properties of humus soil. The results show that with the increase in landfill depth, the proportion of humus soil in municipal solid waste and the physicochemical properties of humus soil such as particle size distribution, organic matter content, specific gravity and pH value of the leaching solution all change, which further affects the mechanical properties such as compressive strength, shear strength, saturated permeability and compressibility. These conclusions provide theoretical reference for the resource utilization of humus soil.
