The Relationship between Plasma Klotho Levels and Sleep Disorders Based on the NHANES Database
Objective:To investigate the association between plasma Klotho levels and the occurrence of sleep dis-orders.Methods:Data from 9,394 participants collected during the 2007 to 2014 National Health and Nutrition Exami-nation Survey(NHANES)were analyzed in this study.By assessing clinical baseline characteristics and constructing three multivariate logistic regression models, the study sought to explore the relationship between plasma Klotho concen-trations and sleep disorders, and to examine whether this association was influenced by age, gender, and ethnicity through subgroup analysis. Results:Among the 9,394 participants included,1,041 were diagnosed with sleep disor-ders.Fully adjusted multivariate logistic regression models revealed a significant protective effect of higher plasma Klotho levels against sleep disorders(OR=0.61,P<0.05).Additionally,individuals with higher plasma Klotho concentrations were found to have a lower risk of developing sleep disorders(OR=0.84,P<0.05).Subgroup analysis indicated that males might be more susceptible to the protective effects of Klotho. Conclusion:Higher levels of plasma Klotho are asso-ciated with a lower incidence of sleep disorders.
