Retrospective Analysis of the Risk Factors for Secondary Gastrointestinal Bleeding in Sepsis Patients
Objective:This study aimed to analyze the risk factors for secondary gastrointestinal bleeding(GIB)in patients with sepsis. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 154 patients with sepsis ad-mitted to the Emergency Intensive Care Unit(EICU)of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from January 2022 to December 2023.Patients were divided into two groups based on the occurrence of GIB:the sepsis with secondary GIB group(n=14)and the sepsis control group(n=140).Clinical data of the two groups were compared, and logistic regression analysis was used to identify risk factors. Results:Compared with the sepsis control group, patients in the sepsis with secondary GIB group had significantly higher rates of GIB history, liver cirrhosis history,in-hospital use of glucocorticoids, aspirin, fibrinogen, and immature reticulocyte fraction(IRF).Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that in-hospital use of aspirin,GIB history, and elevated IRF were independent risk factors for secondary GIB in sepsis. Conclusion:The use of aspirin,GIB history, and elevated IRF are all independent risk factors for secondary GIB in sepsis.
