Gaze and imagination:echoes of The Echo——The reading notes of Dong Xi's novel The Echo and the TV series The Echo
The adaptation of literary texts and film and television scripts has a long history.It can be said that Chinese modern and contemporary literary works have always provided inexhaustible literary and cul-tural support for film and television creation.With its ultra-high degree of text restoration,the short film drama The Echo deeply reflects the current realistic situation and the symptoms of the times,constructs a field that can touch the soul in the gap between imagination and reality,and inspires the echo of warning humanity.Through the analysis of the film adaptation of Dong Xi's novel The Echo,this paper explores the multiple reflections and constructions of reality and life and times in the integration of literature and film,between mirror presentation and literary imagination from the perspectives of adaptation strategy,theme philosophy and psychological consideration.
