In his criticism of parallel prose,Xu Lian's Parallel Prose of Six Dynasties has adopted various ways and methods,among which the most unique one is the method of selecting and reaching the aim,and at the same time,he has used the method of overturning a case,the method of historiography,the method of plain learning and the method of appreciation and analysis from many levels and angles.Thus,his criti-cal research on the parallelism of the Six Dynasties has both depth and breadth.It has special theoretical value and enlightening significance which deserves our attention.
