With the proposal and promotion of sports power strategies,higher vocational physical education,as an important way to cultivate sports talents and popularize sports knowledge,is facing unprecedented opportu-nities and challenges for development.Based on the analysis of the current situation of higher vocational physical education under the background of powerful sports countries,this paper proposes that the development direction of higher vocational physical education should change the traditional teaching mode,advocate the student-centered teaching concept,introduce new sports events and modern information technology,improve the curriculum system and optimize the allocation of resources,so as to cultivate more high-quality sports talents who meet the needs of social development and contribute to the implementation of sports power strategies.
