Objectives To study the correlation between the E670G polymorphism of the PCSK9 gene and acute myocar-dial infarction in the Li and Han populations in Hainan,providing scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of myo-cardial infarction in different ethnic groups.Methods A cohort of 433 participants was recruited(210 acute myocardial infarction patients and 223 healthy controls)from the Li and Han ethnic groups.The serum concentrations of triglyceride(TG),total cholesterol(TC),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)were tested and polymerase chain reaction linked restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP)method was used to test the E670G polymorphism of PCSK9 gene.Results The systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure,fasting blood glucose(FBG),TC,TG,and LDL-C in myocardial infarction group were higher than those in healthy control group,while the serum concentration of HDL-C in myocardial infarction group was lower than that in healthy control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05).The AG,GG genotype frequencies,and G allele frequency of the PCSK9 gene in myocardial infarction group were higher than those in healthy group(P<0.05).The frequencies of AG,GG genotypes,and G allele in the Li and Han myocardial infarction groups were higher than those in healthy group(P<0.05).The GG genotype frequency and G allele frequency in the Li ethnic group with myocardial infarction were lower than those in the Han ethnic group with myocardial infarction(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in GG genotype frequency and G allele frequency between the Li and Han healthy control groups(P>0.05).The serum concentrations of TG,TC,and LDL-C in the GG genotype were higher than those in the AA genotype in myocardial infarction group(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in serum concentrations of TG,TC,HDL-C,and LDL-C between AG and AA,GG and AG genotypes(P>0.05),but compared with AA genotype patients,G allele carriers showed a higher trend in serum concentrations of TG,TC,and LDL-C.Conclusions There was a close correlation between the E670G polymorphism of PCSK9 gene and acute myocardial infarction with serum concentration of lipid.Among the Li and Han population in Hainan,the E670G polymorphism of PCSK9 gene of patients with acute myocardial infarction exhibited regional differences.
