Objectives To investigate the mechanism of lung injury and changes in expression of inflammatory factors in rats with pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion in cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB).Methods Twelve male of Sprague Dawley(SD)rats were divided into two groups. There were 6 SD rats in control group and 6 in CPB pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion group. In CPB pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion group, jugular vein and femoral artery were intubated to establish CPB,and the left hilum of the lung was blocked for 30 minutes by the forth intercostal block at the left margin of the sternum. Then the left hilum of the lung was opened. After opening for 30 minutes, the CPB was stopped. In con-trol group, the forth intercostal sternotomy was performed.Arterial blood gas and serum concentrations of tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α and interleukin(IL)-6 were measured at four time points from T0 to T3.Results The partial pressure of oxygen of CPB pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion group were significantly lower than those of control group at T1,T2,and T3.The partial pressure of carbon dioxide of CPB pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion group were significantly higher than those of control group at T1,T2,and T3(P<0.05).The serum concentrations of TNF-α and IL-6 were significantly higher in CPB pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion group at T2 and T3,with the peak value at T2.Conclusions It is feasible to estab-lish rats as a model of pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion injury in CPB.Pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion injury in CPB reduces pulmonary function of rats and increases the expression of inflammatory factors in rats, resulting in pulmonary function impairment in rats.
