Ciprofol is a novel intravenous anesthetic that introduces cyclopropyl based on the structure of pro-pofol,forming isomers or small molecule structures in the(R)-configuration,enhancing the stereo effect,and enhanc-ing the chloride ion influx mediated by gamma aminobutyric acid to exert sedative or anesthetic effects.It has the ad-vantages of fast onset,fast recovery,high potency,deep sedation,and high induction success rate.Currently,ciprofol has been safely used in endoscopic examination and general anesthesia.This article mainly describes the research sta-tus and clinical application of ciprofol in general anesthesia.
