Peucedanum praeruptorum is the Peucedanum perennial herb of Umbelliferae. As a traditional Chinese drug, it has the effects of dispelling wind heat and relieving cough and reducing sputum, which are often used in the treatment of colds and headaches, coughing and asthma, tightness in the chest. The recent research shows that the main pharmacologic actions of PI praeruptorum include decreasing blood pressure, anti heart failure, anti ischemia of heart and brain, anti asthma and anti cancer. The article summarized the pharmacological actions of PI praeruptorum. It will provide experimental basis for the further exploitation and use of P1 praeruptorum.
