Exploration of the Mechanism of Adipose-derived Exosomes in Regulating Bone Homeostasis in Osteoarthritis Based on the Principle of"Spleen is the Origin of Nature"
According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine,"the kidney is the origin of nature,and the spleen is the origin of nurture".The spleen plays a role in nourishing the kidney and bone system through the operation of the acquired essence such as"ointment and fat",so as to fill the essence of the kidney,seepage perfusion,bone regeneration and bone nourishing.Modern studies have shown that adipose tissue can secrete a variety of exosomes,which are widely involved in the regulation of bone homeostasis,including promoting cartilage anabolism,improving inflammatory microenvironment,relieving pain,and inhibiting abnormal subchondral bone resorption.The destruction of bone homeostasis is the key to the pathology of osteoarthritis.Fat and adipose-derived exosomes are closely related to the"ointment lipid"and other fine substances in spleen metaplasia in terms of function and source,and have common physiological characteristics,which can be understood as one of the manifestations of"ointment lipid"at the microscopic level.Starting from the theories of"spleen and kidney associated"and"spleen is the essence of acquired",we can more deeply understand the regulatory mechanism of adipose-derived exosomes on osteoarthritic bone homeostasis,and improve the modern scientific interpretation of the classic theory of traditional Chinese medicine.A variety of exosomes are closely related to the pathological process and improvement of splenic diseases.Regulating the composition,biogenesis,drive,and uptake of adipose-derived exosomes may be a new target for the treatment of osteoarthritis from the spleen.
