Effect of Abdominal Moxibustion Combined with Jiaji Electroacupuncture on the Muscle Tone and Spasticity Relief of Patients with Myospasm after Spinal Cord Injury
Objective Patients with muscle spasm after spinal cord injury(SCI)were treated with abdominal moxibustion combined with Jiaji electroacupuncture, and its curative effect and effect on muscle tone and spasticity were analyzed. Methods Ninety patients with muscle spasm after spinal cord injury treated in our hospital from June 2021 to March 2023 were randomly divided into two groups.45 patients in the control group were treated with Jiaji electroacupuncture.45 patients in the study group were treated with abdominal moxibustion on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy,TCM symptom score, spasm, muscle tone, serum inflammatory brain derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF)and platelet derived growth factor(PDGF),Japanese Orthopaedic Association human function score(JOA)and quality of life score were observed in the two groups. Results Compared with the control group, the total effective rate of the study group was higher, the TCM symptom score, spasm score and muscle tone score were lower than after treatment, and the serum BDNF and PDGF levels, lumbar and cervical JOA score and Barthel score were higher than after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion Abdominal moxibustion combined with Jiaji electroacupuncture can achieve better clinical effect in the treatment of muscle spasm and muscle tone after spinal cord injury, which can significantly relieve the spasm of patients, significantly increase the levels of serum BDNF and PDGF,and significantly improve the JOA score of lumbar and cervical vertebrae and the quality of life of patients. This treatment method is worthy of clinical promotion.
