Study and Analysis on the Infection of Different Moldy Spot Color Grains of Newly Harvested Maize
As an important food crop and feed source in the world, maize is vulnerable to fungal contamination during its cultivation, harvesting and storage, especially mycotoxin contamination, which poses a major threat to human health and food safety. In this study, the newly harvested maize samples from different regions of Liaoning Province were collected, and the methods of microbiological culture, morphological observation, molecular biologi-cal identification and high-throughput sequencing analysis were used to determine the epiphytic and endophytic bacteria in the grains with different color spots(pink, white, green and black). The correlation between the color of the moldy spots and the specific fungal population was discussed in order to preliminarily judge the potential health risks of the grains through the appearance characteristics, and provide a scientific basis for the safe storage of maize and the prevention of mycotoxin contamination.
