In order to deeply reveal the generation logic,important connotations,and development clues of the prominent characteristics of Chinese civilization from the overall dimension of Chinese history,and promote the overall research and multi angle discussion of Chinese history and civilization,the Major Innovation Project of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences has established the"Research on the Historical Dimen-sion,Internal Logic,and Development Trajectory of the'Five Outstanding Characteristics'of Chinese Civi-lization"(Project Approval No.:2023YZD036).History Teaching actively focuses on the latest research progress in the field of this project,and has set up a special column titled"Chinese Historical Path and Out-standing Characteristics of Civilization under the Great Calendar View"for written discussions.Five repre-sentative scholars in their respective fields use macro perspectives,multi angle positioning,and theoretical analysis to discuss the overall context of China's historical path in stages,highlighting the development characteristics of different periods of Chinese history and revealing the formation,connotation,and influence of the prominent characteristics of Chinese civilization.I believe that our column's written discussions can help showcase the overall picture and deep connotations of Chinese history and civilization,and promote the construction and development of an independent knowledge system for Chinese historical research.
