The Governance of London Housing Problems by the British Royal Government in the Early Modern England
In the 16th century,London, the capital of British, experienced a sudden influx of foreigners, which directly induced the emergence of various kinds of housing problem. The royal government,driv-en by the concept of social governance of"paternalism",was extremely concerned about the problem and actively addressed it through legislation.Although the royal government's initiatives alleviated the housing problem to a certain extent, the actual degree of improvement and the scope of its influence were relatively limited. Moreover, the shrinking of the kingship after the Civil War exacerbated the housing problem in London, ultimately making it more difficult for the government to rule during the In-dustrialization Period.
