Effects of internal recirculation with humidification ventilation on the quality storage of low-moisture corn grain
A water atomisation system was used to construct an endocyclic flow controlled humidity ventilation process to ventilate maize kernels with an initial moisture content of 9.34%for 80 d.The process was used to improve the moisture content of maize kernels by 1.5%during storage. It was found that the moisture content of maize in storage could be significantly increased by 1.5%with a corresponding increase in fatty acid value of only 2.0 mg KOH/100 g by using the inner-loop flow moisture-controlled ventilation process, and the number of moulds on the surface of maize kernels after ventilation was significantly reduced to 2.50 lg(CFU/g).The cost analysis further confirmed that effective moisture-controlled ventilation could be achieved on the basis of a daily average of 200 tons and 180 kW·h.yielding extremely significant economic benefits for the storage, processing and marketing of low-moisture maize.
