The incidence of various chronic non-communicable disease affecting health is increasing with the gradual improvement of our people's living standards.It is considered that pulses are an important guarantee to make up the nutritional deficiency of the whole grain diets and improve the health level of human.The definition and classification of pulses were summarized,the development status of pulses industry in China was briefly described too,and the international trade of pulses was mainly introduced.It was pointed out that vigorously developing the pulses industry would help the midwestern sectional to revitalize the rural economy.
