Comparison of Methods for Determining the Total Number of Bacterial Colonies in Water
In this study, three different methods were used to determine the total number of colonies, including plate counting method, enzyme substrate method and EasyDisc method,to detect certified quality control samples, negative samples and actual samples with different bacterial concentrations. The comparison results show that all the three methods can accurately detect certified quality control samples.By comparing the test results of actual samples and negative samples,it was found that compared with the traditional plate counting method, the enzyme substrate method and the EasyDisc method had the advantages of higher accuracy, simpler operation and better stability in the detection of the total number of colonies, stronger resistance to environmental factors, wider detection applicability, and more suitable for the determination of the total number of colonies in most laboratories with limited conditions.
