Against the backdrop of Ming dynasty's general disdain for Song poetry,Yuan Hongdao's esteem for Su Shi stands out as a particularly noteworthy phenomenon.Yuan Hongdao's collections such as Ping Hua Zhai Collection and Xiao Bi Tang Col-lection reflect his acceptance of Su Shi.Xiao Bi Tang Collection,compiled from the 28th to the 34th year of the Wanli era,represents a collection of poems and essays written during Yuan Hongdao's residence in Liulang village.During this period,Yuan Hongdao developed a deeper connection with Su Shi,which is a crucial period for him to embrace and learn from Su Shi.Yuan Hongdao's acceptance of Su Shi influenced the popularity of Su Shi's poems and essays in the late Ming literary world,which,in turn,affect-ed the rise of Song poetry during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
