On Influencing Factors for College Students in Sichuan to Participate in Rural Tourism Volunteer Services under the Background of Rural Revitalization
Addressing the issues such a s lack of identification, insufficient motivation, and low overall participation rates among college student volunteers, this study uses questionnaire data from 2,692 college students in Sichuan Province.Employing multiple regression and principal component analysis methods,it explores the factors affecting college students'willingness to participate in rural tourism volunteer services. The results show that external economy and policies are the most important factors influencing college students'participation in rural tourism volunteer services;emotion and identification are the important factors affecting their involvement;family characteristics have a considerable impact;gender and identity also have a significant influence. But grades and political views do not.It is suggested that governments at all levels should accelerate the process of urban-rural integration and narrow the gap between urban and rural development. At the same time, support for college students'volunteer services in rural tourism should be increased, with more incentive and attractive policies introduced, along with enhanced publicity efforts to improve college students'emotional identification with agriculture, rural areas, and farmers.Relevant colleges and universities should introduce incentive or restrictive policies for college students'rural tourism volunteer services, building a good platform for such activities, paying more attention to the leading, exemplary, and pioneering roles of student leaders, and encouraging more college students to actively contribute to the development of rural tourism through volunteer services, thereby aiding rural revitalization. The research findings have significant theoretical and practical implications for leveraging the resource advantages of Sichuan's college students to address the talent shortage in rural tourism.
