The Interplay of Thoughts and Belief:Marion's Phenomenological Interpretation of Revelation
Marion, one of the most renowned philosophers nowadays, has achieved enough recognition for his achievements in phenomenology and theology. On the one hand,in the field of phenomenology,Marion has proposed the fourth principle of phenomenology-"as much reduction as is given,"which opens up space for the expansion of phenomenality and the emergence of revelatory phenomena. On the other hand,in the field of theology,Marion has achieved the effort of God"de-existence",making God appear as the absolute original revelation itself, which provides possibility for the ultimate realization of faith.Marion believes that although philosophy and faith belong to different fields, his thoughts still feature a close intertwining or even integration of the two. This ambiguity has brought him much criticism, but the tension between philosophy and faith is also a key factor to understand Marion.
