Effect of low protein diet on production performance and health status of Lande geese
The aim was to study the effects of low protein diet on growth performance and health status of Landes geese, and to provide reference for the application of low protein diet in Landes geese production.A total of 480 18-day-old Landes geese were randomly divided into 4 groups with 6 replicates per group and 20 geese per replicate, including 14.6%group,14.8%group,15.0%group and 18.0%group.The results show that:There were no significant differences in average final weight, average daily feed intake and ratio of feed to gain between the low protein group and the control group(P>0.05).The average daily gain of low protein group was lower than that of control group, and there were significant differences between 14.6%group and control group(P<0.05),and no significant differences between 14.8%group,15.0%group and control group(P>0.05).In the low protein group, the average daily gain of 14.6%group was the lowest(65.06 g),which was significant-ly different from that of 14.8%group(P<0.05),but not significantly different from that of 15.0%group(P>0.05).The death rate and morbidity of low protein group were lower than those of control group, and the difference was significant(P<0.05).These results indicated that low protein diet could reduce the daily gain of Landes geese and affect the growth perform-ance,but could reduce the risk of disease and improve the survival ratio.
