Advancements in research on the candidate gene for bovine lactation traits STAT5A
L actation traits are important economic traits and value of bovine,which are not only affected by environmental fac-tors,but also regulated by genes.STAT5 A gene,as a candidate gene for lactation traits,plays an important role in mammary gland development and milk protein synthesis.In this paper,the chromosome localization and tissue expression of bovine STAT5 A gene as well as the influence of nucleotide polymorphism on lactation traits were reviewed,aiming to provide theoreti-cal basis for breeding selection of mammals such as cattle and provide technical support for the development and utilization of germplasm resources in China.
