Effect of adding different types of γ-aminobutyric acid to the daily ration on the growth performance of yellow-feathered broiler chicken under heat stress conditions
The aim of this experiment is to investigate the effect of adding different types of γ-aminobutyric acid to the daily ration on the growth performance of yellow feathered broiler chicken under heat stress conditions.Altogether 1,680 22-day-old yellow feathered broiler chicken were randomized into three groups(namely control group, fermented γ-aminobutyric acid group, and synthesized γ-aminobutyric acid group),with 8 replicates in each group and 72 chickens in each replicate to undergo a 21-day experiment. The results showed that adding 30 mg/kg of fermented γ-aminobutyric acid to the daily ration under heat stress conditions could significantly improve the average daily gain(ADG)and the feed to gain ratio(F/G)of broiler chicken(P<0.01).By contrast, adding 30 mg/kg synthesized γ-aminobutyric acid to the daily ratio failed to significantly improve the ADG or F/G of the broiler chicken(P>0.05).Taken together, adding 30 mg/kg of fermented y-aminobutyric acid to the daily ration under heat stress conditions could improve the growth performance of yellow feathered broiler chicken.
