In order to explore the feasibility of using milled rice yield as a grading index for paddy standard, this article takes 427 indica rice samples and 467 japonica rice samples from different regions, years, and varieties as experimental subjects to study the correlation between milled rice yield and paddy quality indicators. The results indicate that the milled rice yield can to some extent reflect the levels of husked rice yield, chalkiness degree and unsound kernel, and it is feasible and necessary to use it as a grading index. To determine the grading of milled rice yield,a multivariate analysis of variance was conducted on paddy shape and type. The results showed that type had a significant impact on milled rice yield, while grain shape had a significant im-pact on japonica rice yield. Finally,it is recommended to classify the rice yield level into:long grain japonica rice grade 1≥73%,grade 2≥69%,grade 3≥65%,medium grain japonica rice grade 1≥75%,grade 2 ≥72%,grade 3≥69%;short grain japonica rice grade 1≥77%,grade 2≥74%,grade 3≥71%,indica rice grade 1≥69%,grade 2≥67%,and grade 3≥65%.
