Operation of No.3 BF with 2-Sectional Stack in Tangsteel New Area
No.3 BF in Tangsteel New Area is designed with 2-sectional stack considering its burden mix(high pellet per-centage)and smelting characteristics.The angle of the stack upper section is 79.56° and that of the lower section 82.58°.Such a design is adaptive to furnace smelting under high pellet percentage,facilitates the development of edge gas flow,but weaken the conditioning effect of burden distribution and narrows the pressure difference of the upper part.Nowadays,the pellets charged to the furnace accounts for about 40%,and the furnace production result shows that the design of 2-sectional stack relieves the problem of poor gas permeability caused by pellet reduction-related expansion when the furnace is operating with high pellet Percentage;However,it is not friendly for the case of large batch-based BF smelting,where therefore,it is required to select a suitable distribution matrix as the charged pellet percentage increases,and enhance the gas flow control,especially the edge gas flow.
