Causes of Wall Accretion in Meishan Steel No.5 BF and Corresponding Recovery Actions
It is summarized the causes of wall accretion in Meishan Steel No.5 BF and the corresponding recovery actions. The wall accretion, which occurs in the first time after the furnace is blown-on,is mainly signified by the decrease of the wa-ter temperature difference of the whole furnace, and the deviation of the static pressure curve of the furnace stack. This prob-lem is mainly caused by:(1)deterioration of the coke quality with the highest CRI of the charged coke rising to about 23.6%,and the ash content reaching 12.5%approximately;(2)deterioration of the sinter with the grade dropped to about 57.0%,and the FeO content dropped to about 8.5%;(3)rising of the slag(Al2O3)content,up to 19.0%;(4)over limit of the harmful element content in the furnace with the zinc load rising to 0.36kg/t,and the basic metal load climbing to 3.0kg/t;(5)deterioration of the furnace condition. After the actions of developing the edge gas flow, increasing the blast flowrate and the furnace temperature, and charging manganese ore for slugging, the furnace goes back to the normal condi-tion.
